Are you as surprised as I am that it is the middle of August?! The summer seems to have evaporated. Of course I’m thinking about the beginning of school and the great transformation that occurs in the parish when the children return to their classrooms. I’m very happy to say that school enrollment is up significantly over last year. Despite many challenges our school keeps improving its curriculum and sustains such important programs as music, art, science and technology, and physical education.
As a parish we have a great deal to be proud of in our school! My hope is that every parent and grandparent, every parishioner will think of him/herself as an ambassador for our parish educational mission in Saint Agatha School. As part of our parish mission we have committed ourselves to make a Catholic education for all our parish children possible.
Our parish and school leadership is working hard to realize an important goal: the integration of school and parish for reasons of mission and efficiency. Of course, Saint Agatha School is the single largest commitment the parish has made since its establishment in 1911. In part, we are achieving this goal by combining school and parish business management into one position. We have also combined our music programs, facilities maintenance, and technology.
On behalf of the whole parish I want to thank our Principal, Jeff Delegato, the faculty and staff of our school, the Friends of Saint Agatha, as well as the volunteer councils that advise regarding the school and parish.
